La Marque, Texas - Looking for some great family entertainment and fall fun? Bayou Fest is the place to be on Saturday, October 16th at Highland Bayou Park in La Marque!
This family oriented festival will feature a wide variety of activities, entertainment, food and fun! Admission and parking are both free to the public.
Bayou Fest will include a BBQ Cook-Off, Arts & Crafts & Food, Children’s Fishing Tournament, Children’s Activities, Horseshoe Tournament, Car & Cycle Cruise’ N, Live Entertainment and lots of fun for the whole family.
The Children’s Fishing Tournament will be held at Highland Bayou Park (exit 10 @ IH-45 South). The first two-hundred children (12 years old and under) to sign up will receive t-shirts and lunch and can fish for free from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with parent or guardian supervision. Rusty Hook Fishing Club is sponsoring prizes to be given away at a drawing held during the day. Awards will be given for ten categories of fish caught during the tournament. You must provide your own rod n reel, bait will be provided.
There will be a Barbecue Cook-Off from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. BBQ Cook-Off Teams can enter three events: Chicken, Ribs and Brisket. If you've got a great barbecue recipe, consider yourself a chef and enter.
While the chefs are busy preparing their winning cuisine, the kids can have a blast with children’s activities. Mom can take advantage of the various arts and crafts and food booths that will be available.

Classic car buffs are invited to the Car & Cycle Cruise’ N on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Cruise’ N will display lots of classic, antique and hot rod cars and some hot cycles. You don’t want to miss this!
The Posse Band will play Saturday night from 5pm to 8pm at Highland Bayou Park. Posse Band members include Britt Ennis – Bandleader, Vocals, Drums, Guitar; Brian Carter, Vocals, Guitar, Drums; Kevin LaMar - Lead Guitar, Vocals; Kenny Martin -Steel Guitar,Lead Guitar, Vocals; Robby Nowlin - Vocals, Bass. Free concert, free parking!
To get to Highland Bayou Park:
from Houston take IH-45 South to Exit 10 and take a right off of the frontage road past Ron Hoover RV & Marine.
from Galveston take IH-45 North to FM 519 and take the loop around to the frontage road going south, past Ron Hoover RV & Marine.
This will be a day the whole family can enjoy, so come out and join the fun!
